Dr Lars Johanning

Lecturer in Renewable Energy, University of Exeter

Dr Lars Johanning, a lecturer in Renewable Energy, has been involved in research on hydrodynamic related topics for marine structures since 1997. His research included the study of offshore wind mono-towers and station keeping principals for marine renewable devices to improve reliability and cost efficient power capture.

In his current position he is leading the PRIMaRE Marine Operation group at the University of Exeter taking the responsibility of managing i) the installation of the South Western Mooring Test Facility, ii) implementation of component testing and reliability research for Marine Renewable devices and iii) managing a research vessel. Furthermore, he has responsibilities in different European FP7 projects (CORES, EquiMar) supporting the establishment of marine renewable energy.
