South West Marine Energy Park

The South West is the first region in the UK to be designated as a marine energy park – the South West Marine Energy Park (SWMEP).

The SW MEP is:

• A collaborative partnership between local and national government, Local Enterprise Partnerships, technology developers, academia and industry.
• A physical and geographic zone with priority focus for marine technology development, energy generation projects and industry growth.
• The geographic scope of the SW MEP extends from Bristol to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, with a focus around the ports, research facilities and industrial clusters found in Cornwall, Plymouth and Bristol.

The core objective of the SWMEP is to create a positive business environment that will foster business collaboration, attract investment and accelerate the commercial development of the marine energy sector.
